Chili Rasbora

Boraras brigittae
Freshwater 🎓 Intermediate

The chili rasbora (also called mosquito rasbora) is arguably the most brilliant nano fish in the hobby, its tiny body is saturated in vivid crimson-red with black markings. They are blackwater fish from peat swamps, preferring very soft, acidic, tannin-stained water. Adding Indian almond leaves, peat, or Seachem Blackwater extract brings out their best color. ⚠️ Do not keep with any fish that has a bigger mouth than a cherry shrimp, they are tiny and will be eaten. Best in a nano species-only or shrimp tank.
