Amazon frogbit is a beautiful floating plant with rosettes of round, slightly spongy leaves and dangling white roots that provide excellent cover for fry and surface-dwelling fish. It grows rapidly and provides shade that benefits shy fish and reduces surface agitation. ⚠️ It spreads prolifically, remove excess weekly or it will cover the entire surface and block all light from below. High-humidity environments are essential; in low-humidity rooms, leaf edges brown and die. Keep surface still, excessive agitation from spray bars sinks and rots the plant.
