Pearl Gourami

Trichopodus leerii
Freshwater 🎓 Beginner

The pearl gourami is one of the most elegant aquarium fish, its body is covered in a delicate pearl-like pattern of white dots, and breeding males develop a brilliant orange-red throat and chest. They are hardy, adaptable, and considerably more robust than dwarf gouramis, tolerating a wider range of water conditions. Like all gouramis, they breathe surface air. ⚠️ Males can be aggressive toward each other, keep one male with multiple females, or a single specimen. They make a quiet croaking sound during courtship.
